In a preview clip promoting her appearance on the Kapil Sharma Show, Sudha Marty shared her experience of being called “cow-class”.
In a preview clip of “The Kapil Sharma Show” uploaded by Sony TV, the chairman of the Infosys Foundation recalled an incident in which two business class passengers were pushed away because of her dress.
Marty recalled being called “cow-class” simply because he chose to wear the salwar kameez. In her experience, she was labeled as ‘didi’ or ‘behenji’ for wearing salwar kameez or sari.
“What do people in economy class know about business class?” Marty recalls asking.
The winner of Padma Bhushan immediately questioned the person about the statement and asked, “What is the cattle grade?”
Sudha criticized the idea that class is derived from the money a person owns.
“Class isn’t defined as if you have money, you have class,” Marty criticized the sentiment.
She named people in her class such as mathematicians Manjul Bhargaba and Mother Teresa.
“He’s made India proud, Manjul Bhargava. He’s a great mathematician. He’s in the class. Mother Teresa? She’s top notch,” Marty added.
Sudha also surprised Kapil Sharma, labeling him top notch in laughter and comedy, and the comedian was said to be overjoyed at the words.
Sudha Marty is known to indulge in the simpler, humbler side of life. Mercy is known and recognized for her work on social and she has made amazing progress in her social work.
Marty has helped build 2,300 homes in flood-affected areas across the country. She also contributed to the construction of 7,000 libraries and her over 16,000 restrooms. She received the Padma Bhushan Award earlier this year for her contribution to just that.
To promote her appearance, SonyTV announced other previews of the anticipated episode where the Padma Shri winner would delve deeper into her humorous side while bantering with hosts Kapil Sharma and Guneet Monga. I also shared a clip. In one of her videos, Sudha recalls meeting her husband, her Infosys founder Narayana, her Mercy.
The highly anticipated ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ episode will air on Sony TV this weekend at 9:30pm.
