Chris Brown has been promoted, effective immediately, to Vice President of Elektra Entertainment and Co-Head of Roadrunner Records.
Katie Robinson, meanwhile, has been appointed head of marketing, overseeing campaigns for all members of Warner Music Group’s Elektra Entertainment.
Rounding out the three promotions is Johnny Minardi, who has been promoted to head of Fueled by Ramame and co-head of Roadrunner Records.
Minardi, who has also been promoted to Elektra Entertainment’s SVP of A&R, will be responsible for the members of Fueled By Ramen, which features alternative artists such as Fall Out Boy and Panic. At the Disco and 21 Pilots, along with Brown, were joined by Roadrunner hard rock acts such as Turnstile, Godzilla and Slipknot.
Robinson and Minardi will continue to be based in Los Angeles, and Brown will be based in New York, reporting directly to Elektra Entertainment President Greg Nadell.
Chris Brown recently served as Head of Marketing for Elektra Entertainment, spearheading marketing campaigns for Slipknot, Turnstile and Panic!. In addition to working with At The Disco and Fall Out Boy, he oversees the marketing strategy for the entire label group.
Prior to assuming that post in 2018, Brown worked for Roadrunner Records for over 12 years, rising to Vice President of Marketing for Roadrunner/Fueled by Ramame.
Katie Robinson will return to Warner Music Group as Vice President of Marketing for Elektra Entertainment in 2019 and will be appointed SVP in 2022.
Robinson previously worked with Atlantic Records from 2006 to 2013 with members of Fueled By Ramen, including Bruno Mars, Paramore and Fan.
During her current tenure, she has directed campaigns such as Twenty One Pilots, Maisie Peters, jxdn, A Day to Remember and Alec Benjamin. Prior to joining Elektra, Robinson held marketing roles at Red Bull Records and Interscope, where she worked with The 1975, Madonna and more.
Johnny Minardi previously served as Vice President of A&R at Elektra Entertainment, and prior to that was Senior Director of A&R. Among notable label deals, Minardi has included artists such as Tones & Eyes, Fall Out Boy, The Band CAMINO, Grandson, nothing, nowhere, and Travis Barker’s DTA Records for Elektra. It played an important role in adding to the umbrella.
Minardi’s A&R experience includes postings for Fueled by Ramame and Atlantic Records, as well as a brief stint at Equal Vision Records. At just his 18 years old, Minardi founded his own indie label, his Little League record.
Founded in 2018, Elektra Entertainment (formerly Elektra Music Group) consists of Elektra, Fueled By Ramame and Roadrunner Records.
Elektra Entertainment was born out of the Elektra Records label founded by Jack Holtzman in 1950. Under Chairman and CEO Kevin, Elektra Entertainment is one of the “pillars” that form 300 Elektra Entertainment (3EE), the forefront label group that unites 300 and Elektra. Lils.
The promotion follows news that Elektra Records co-president Mike Easterlin has resigned from his position at the Warner Music Group-affiliated label.
Easterlin will continue to work with WMG as a consultant to WMX, its artist services arm.
With this move, Greg Nadel will continue as sole president of Elektra under the banner of 300 Elektra Entertainment.
